Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital welcomes visiting undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students by appointment. We encourage students who are interested in equine practice and surgery to spend a minimum of 2 weeks with us. You will be expected to get involved in all aspects of the practice including ambulatory, racing yards, stud medicine and surgery. When in the hospital we encourage students to observe lameness examinations and take an active interest in the hospitalised cases, this will include performing the role of surgical assistant as appropriate. 

We are committed to providing a positive training experience to our practice visitors and have positive feedback from those who have visited the practice. This is provided in the understanding that no procedures will be performed by visiting students without appropriate supervision and that client and case confidentiality be maintained at all times.
